Designed for the entrance
Camera position, distance and lighting considered together.
Number-plate recognition cameras for entrances, driveways and business yards. We plan the capture point and configure searchable vehicle events.
Leave your name and number. We’ll call to discuss what you need.
We’ll explain the work and costs before you book.
Camera position, distance and lighting considered together.
Locate captured plates and review the original footage.
Connect vehicle entry with your gate controls.

We plan a camera and lighting arrangement around the entrance, expected vehicle direction and the footage you need to find later.
Vehicle entrances
A useful number-plate-recognition installation considers mounting position, vehicle speed, lighting and the exact entrance. We review the site before making claims about what is achievable.
Recognition performance depends on camera selection, mounting, lighting, vehicle movement and plate condition. We test the agreed view and document any limits.
Capturing a registration needs a view designed for the plate itself. We assess vehicle paths, distance, speed, mounting height and lighting, then choose the UniFi Protect camera and position for the entrance, including dedicated AI-LPR hardware where appropriate. We test the actual capture view with your site in mind.
Review vehicle routes, distances, speeds and lighting before choosing the camera position.
Fit the agreed camera and cabling, then set up recording and vehicle-event searches.
Test the capture view with vehicles at your entrance and demonstrate how to find relevant recordings.
One year of full support included. We look after your project for one year from sign-off, at no extra cost.
An overview camera helps you see activity. Capturing a number plate needs a view designed for the plate itself. We assess vehicle paths, distance, speed, mounting height and lighting before choosing the camera and its position.
Automatic number-plate recognition is also called ANPR or LPR. UniFi Protect supports number-plate recognition with suitable hardware, including the dedicated AI-LPR camera. We select the equipment for the entrance and test the actual capture view.
Recognised registration numbers can help you locate relevant vehicle footage in Protect. We show you how to search the captured events, review the original recording and export the useful clip. Recognition can be missed or incorrect, so the recording remains important.
For a compatible UniFi Access gate setup, recognised authorised plates can be used as an access method. This needs the appropriate camera, gate hub, configuration and a suitable gate system. We assess compatibility and agree manual access and failure arrangements before including it.
We agree the capture lane and expected operating conditions, fit the camera and cabling, configure recording and demonstrate searches. Where night-time capture is required, it forms part of the agreed testing. Retention, user access and the boundaries of the camera view are set around the site.
Send us the location and what you want the system to do. We explain the proposed work and charges before booking.
Get a free quoteSome compatible UniFi cameras support recognition, but the lens and position still need to suit the entrance. A dedicated AI-LPR camera may be more appropriate for demanding capture conditions.
Only when that integration is specifically designed and installed with compatible UniFi Access equipment and a suitable gate. Plate searching on its own does not provide gate control.
