The project

More than Wi-Fi in the house.

Magnus’s installation covered the property as a whole: wireless coverage indoors and in the gardens, security cameras, and access through doors, gates and the garage. TechLatch handled the UniFi installation and configuration, connecting the different parts into a system the customer could use day to day.

UniFi Network

Coverage indoors and out.

The network uses ten access points, including U7 Pro and U7 Outdoor models, alongside in-wall and compact access points. A Dream Machine Pro Max and four UniFi switches provide the network foundation.

Using different access-point formats allowed the installation to cover the house and outdoor spaces as part of the same managed network.

UniFi Protect

Existing cameras. Brought into Protect.

Mark integrated four existing Mobotix cameras into UniFi Protect, bringing them under UniFi management as part of the wider installation. The customer could keep the cameras already fitted while bringing them into the same system.

The setup also includes AI Port hardware. The camera integration formed part of the same job as the network, doors and gates.

UniFi Access · Existing hardware integration

Doors, gates and the garage.

The work extended beyond fitting readers. Mark wired two existing Gretsch-Unitas door systems into the Enterprise Access Hub, alongside integration of the pedestrian gate, vehicle roller gate and garage roller door.

G3 Pro readers and a G3 Intercom form part of the Access installation. The project shows how UniFi can work with suitable existing door and gate equipment, rather than requiring every part to be replaced.

After the installation

Support from someone who knows the whole setup.

Mark continues to look after the system remotely. For Magnus, that continuity is an important part of the service: when help is needed, the person responding already knows how the network, cameras and access equipment fit together.

Every project includes one year of full support from TechLatch, starting at project sign-off, at no extra cost.

Magnus’s Google review

“Mark handled the whole UniFi installation at our property, covering Wi-Fi throughout the house and gardens, cameras, and access through our doors and gates. He also connected the garage door and brought everything together into a system that works for us.

We’ve been delighted with the result. Mark knows his stuff, and he’s continued looking after the system remotely since the installation. Having someone who knows the whole setup and can help afterwards makes a real difference. Would happily recommend him and TechLatch.”
